Title: Ansel Adams Portfolio VII Author: Adams, Ansel Place: New York Publisher: Parasol Press Date: 1976 Description: Eleven gelatin silver prints and one Polaroid photograph. Each signed, numbered consecutively and '64/115' in pencil (on the mount); each with Portfolio stamp (on the reverse of the mount). The silver prints measure 40.8x51 cm. (16x20") or the reverse; the unique Polaroid 9x11.5 cm. (3¾x4½"). Title, caption list, foreword, and other printed matter laid in; plain paper interleaves and mats. Linen clamshell portfolio box. Limited to 115 copies, of which 100 were for sale. Perhaps the most desirable, and certainly the most valuable, of Ansel Adams' portfolios, featuring large and stunning gelatin silver prints of some of his most notable photographs, as well as a unique Polaroid print. The prints are: White Branches, Mono Lake, California, 1950; Arches, North Court, Mission San Xaviar del Bac, Tucson, Arizona, 1968; Boards and Thistles, San Francisco, California, 1932; Tree, Stump and Mist, Northern Cascades, Washington, 1958; Gerry Sharpe, Ouray, Colorado, 1958; Aspens, Northern New Mexico, 1958; Interior of Tumacacori Mission, Arizona, ca. 1952; Cemetery Statue and Oil Derricks, Long Beach, California, 1939; Half Dome, Blowing Snow, Yosemite National Park, ca. 1955; El Capitan, Sunrise Winter, Yosemite National Park, ca. 1918; and Sunrise, Mount Tom, Sierra Nevada, California, ca. 1948. The Aspens print has been archivally framed. Lot Amendments Condition: A few of the paper guards or printed leaves with slight creasing at edges; fine condition. Item number: 224148
