ANOMYMOUS. Fiorenza . Rome: Giovanni Orlandi 1602. Engraved bird's-eye view of Florence set against the sorrounding hills on a single median sheet, 409 x 555mm (engraving 314 x 438mm. Title in scrolling ribbon, arms of the Medici and Florence at upper corners, inset index of principal building of the city along lower margin. (Some worming in upper margin occasionally affecting image, some light dampstaining.) A fine dark impression of Orlandi's reissue of Duchetti's work. The shadows have been rehatched and some details simplified to clarify this early view of Florence, and 'Mugnone f., identifying the river which flowed past the then northern walls of the city, has been deleted. Watermark similar to Woodward 45.
