Contemporary blue morocco gilt, top edge gilt, others uncut, by Stikeman; morocco-faced slipcase. Provenance : Collin Armstrong (presentation inscription, bookplate); Bernard H. Breslauer (typed presentation card from Sotheby Parke Bernet on front free endpaper "on the occasion of his first Immaculate Reception as the New Bookseller of New York"). LIMITED EDITION, one of 122 copies on hand-made paper from an edition of 142. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Andrews with four lines of verse to Collin Armstrong, 23 November 1902. Andrews collected illuminated manuscripts, maps, prints, fine bindings, illustrated books and early Aldines and Elzevirs, but he also maintained a life-long interest in all aspects of the history of New York City. He was a founding member of the Book Fellows' Club in 1881, and three years later helped organize the Grolier Club. With several other members of the Grolier Club he founded the Society of Iconophiles, intended to preserve and record the history of the city.
