An unusual Chinese famille rose 'Judgement of Paris' plate, circa 1745 finely enamelled to the centre with Paris offering the golden apple to Aphrodite, before her sisters Hera and Athena, a peacock and Cupid to the side, the rim with four harbour scene cartouches within gilt c-scrolls -- 9in. (23cms) diam. The scene can be found on several different Chinese Export services, although this service is one of the rarest and of superior quality to at least two of the other services.
