An Officer's Mess Dress of the Baluch Regiment The fine and very rare uniform of Captain Vernon Pilcher, circa 1935, by Hawkes & Co Ltd , an Old Style black jacket edged with black square cord, black metal studs to front; collar and pointed cuffs, both of cherry-coloured cloth, edged and trimmed with black mohair braid and Russia figuring; shoulder-cords of plaited black chain-gimp; companion black cloth waistcoat, edged with black mohair braid and a row of Russia eyes on cherry cloth, the pocket-openings trimmed with black braid on cherry cloth backing; a pair of plain dark-red overalls; a short cummerbund of crimson cotton with blue/white transverse stripes; together with an officer's black leather pouchbelt of Rifles pattern (lacking fittings and pouch) See colour illustration of major items (5)
