AN OBE GROUP OF SIX MEDALS. OBE civil cased with framed award document dated 1956. Awarded to Robert Sandford Campbell esq 2nd January 1956. A 1914/15 Star named to L Cpl R S Campbell Hartigans Horse. British war and Victory medals named to 2nd C/W. O. R S Campbell S.A.S.C. 1935 Jubilee medal in original box. Belgian Order of The Crown breast type in silver. The latter mounted with the Gt War medals on a bar, the original box of issue is with the group. Robert Campbell left Glasgow for South Africa in 1910. Enlisting in 1914 he served as a mounted scout under General Smuts against the Germans in the Rufiji Basin and up to Moshi/Taveta. He was awarded the OBE in 1956 for services including to the armed forces, in WW11. Particularly the Royal Navy. Also for the community as Chairman of Chamber of Commerce Mombasa. Chairman of the Coffee Trade Association & Rotary Club. £250-350
