An Iznik polychrome pottery dish, Turkey, Ottoman, 17th century
of shallow rounded form, decorated in underglaze green, red and dark blue with thick black outlines, a central saz leaf rising from a leafy tuft, flanked by stems of roses, tulips and hyacinths, the rim with alternating rosette and tulip buds, the underside with stylized blue and green patterns and old collector's label G.W.H., No. A727.4cm diam.Condition reportIntact, the glaze and pigment still vibrant, minor evidence of pitting and some chips to rim, two small hairline cracks to the glaze on rim, abrasion to foot consistent with age and use, as viewed.
