AN ITALIAN ORMOLU-MOUNTED EBONY, EBONIZED AND PIETRA DURA CASKET GRAND DUCAL WORKSHOPS, FLORENCE, LATE 17TH/EARLY 18TH CENTURY The hinged top and sides inlaid with ribbon-tied floral bouquets in various hardstones including lapis-lazuli, Diaspro di Corsica , Agata sardonica and chalcedony, on a nero paragone ground, within ormolu borders, olivewood interior, the bun feet probably 19th century replacements, the scroll mounts 18th century but probably inverted 9½ in. (24 cm.) high, 15½ in. (30 cm.) wide, 11½ in. (29 cm.) deep
