Fernandez of Madrid (one gold-lined), gold-lined vent, silver sights, and traces of blueing, signed associated flat lock engraved with foliage terminating in monster-heads and fitted with swing-out safety-steel, highly figured root walnut half-stock with butt of French type, and integral wooden trigger-guard, inlaid with flat iron panels pierced and engraved with foliage and berries, the side-plate with an angel, a dog and a monster's head, iron barrel-band pierced and engraved with birds, iron butt-plate and turned silver ramrod-pipe (ramrod missing), circa 1720, the lock by Johann Winter of Strasburg, early 18th Century 46¾in. barrel [E.349, S.18
