* An Italian Baroque Walnut and Marquetry Chest of Drawers late 17th century the top of blockfront outline above the conforming case fitted with three long drawers inlaid throughout with floral and foliate scroll decoration, raised on flattened spherical feet. Height 36 x width 55 1/2 x depth 28 inches. Estimate $ 3,000-5,000 Property from the Collection of David A. Beech, sold to benefit Mariners Church, Irvine, California Overall very attractive, stable condition. Feet appear to be replacements; one has been recently re-attached with glue, but chest is structurally intact and usable. Several small repairs to the edge of the top and rails between the drawers with replaced wood. Older but not original finish. Worm holes, scratches, scuffs and marks consistent with age. Handles replaced; drawers later lined with paper. Top and back appear original; possibly with some minor repairs to small areas of the marquetry. Additional photos available upon request.
