An interesting collection of Roman artifacts from Rotherhithe. Consisting of two Roman iron spear heads, a copper alloy dress fastener known as a 'fibula', an iron sickle for harvesting plants, a Emperor Hadrian (117 - 138 A.D.) bronze Dupondius coin, a Emperor Nero (58 - 68 A.D.) bronze Dupondius coin together with a Julia Maesa Augusta Denarius. (7 items) Provenance: This lot came from The Ronald Goode collection at the Pumphouse Educational Museum in Rotherhithe. The Museum housed a fascinating private collection of artifacts discovered on the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe along with an interesting collection of Peak Freans biscuit factory items which once existed locally in the area. The later collection also included a magnificent six foot iced replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake with a letter of thanks from Elizabeth II which was on permanent exhibit at The Pumphouse Museum.
