Déployant un riche décor de personnages dans des scènes de chasse à l’arc, d’arbres fleuris et de divers oiseaux. La face intérieure de l’abattant ornée du symbole christique : « Pélican de piété », déchirant de son bec sa poitrine, la face extérieure décorée d’archanges.Forte restauration, le décor du panneau supérieur, probablement rapporté, a pratiquement disparu sous les différentes couches de vernis.32.5 x 23.5 x 20cm ; 12¾ by 9¼ by 7⅞ in.Condition reportThere are breaks repaired with associated restorations to the back of the casket, visible on the attached close ups (image 5290). The casket was revarnished, the decoration on the top almost disappeared, there are losses to the inlay due to usual wear. There are cracks to the ivory and to the wood. AS VIEWED.
