An impressive Qur'an leaf, in Arabic, illuminated manuscript on polished paper [probably Mamluk Mesopotamia, c. 1320] single folio of very high quality polished paper, containing text from surah al Baqara (2:241-2:248), single column, 9 lines black thuluth, with vocalisation, diacritics in red, verses marked by gold roundels decorated with black lines and blue dots, large ornamental device in the margin, tear-shaped gold device, outlined in blue with pink, green, blue and turquoise flames extending outwards, wide margins, small section of damp-staining else exceptionally clean and crisp condition, 490 by 355 mm.
