An Important Chinese Jade Covered Vase 19th century of a mostly even green stone, the rectangular section vase finely inscribed to each side with a Qianlong Imperial poem and three seals, worked in relief to show magpies perched on prunus branches, rockery and dragons, the lift-off cover with further birds and prunus branches above the concave neck flanked by dragon's head handles, raised on a later gilt wood lamp base with carnelian agate lamp pulls and a carved jade finial. Height of jade 11 1/2 inches.
