RADIUS VERNIER SEXTANT BY KEUFFEL & ESSER CO., NEW YORK with oxidised-brass frame, polished arc with inset silvered scale divided to 115º, signed as per title on the index arm and numbered 4932, contained within fitted wooden box with sighting tubes and trade labels within lid and inset plaque inscribed US Navy No. 4932 in lid -- 10½in. (26.6cm.) square This sextant was saved from the sinking wreck of the S.S. Strathallan on 21st December 1943.
