An extremely fine and very detailed museum display quality 1:192 scale model of the U.S. Navy Essex Class aircraft carrier U.S.S. Intrepid , Pennant No.CV11 built by Fine Art Models with detailed island with signal masts and radar and radio aerials, halyards, range finders, quickfiring anti-aircraft guns, machine guns, searchlights, binoculars on stands, deck rails, companionways, pipework, firepoints and hosepipes and many other details. The flight deck has aircraft tie-down bars, a representative selection of the various aircraft carried including Chance Vought Corsair, Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat and Curtiss Helldiver, some with wings folded, all with individual numbers, walkways with pierced floors, life jackets in racks, cranes, lift, louvred air intakes, cantilever supports, deck rails, companionways and ladders and a host of delicate details. The hull, finished in red, blue, black and grey is fitted with simulated plating, painted brass upperworks, four shafts with 'A' brackets and four blade propellors, bilge keels and rudder and mounted on wooden blocks -- 12 x 55in.
