An extremely fine 1:36 scale museum display quality fully rigged and planked model of the Royal Yacht Caroline of 1749 built by M. Bijelic with bound masts, yards with foot ropes, detailed standing and running rigging with left and right hand wound rope as appropriate, scale blocks, the larger with sheaves and deck details including the crowned seated figure of the Queen with orb and sceptre flanked by angels, carved from wild pear wood, hair rails, anchors with bound wooden stocks, anchor floats, catheads with sheaves and lion's head decoration, bitts, belaying rails and pins, rope coils, deck rings, swivel guns, bell with canopy over, companionways, main deck with capstan, gratings, eight guns in carriages with tackle, royal saloon with glazed doors and windows, planked coach roof with deck rails, special chair carved from a single piece of pearwood with no joints and with leather upholstery, decklights, tiller and royal barge of clinker construction with frames, bottom boards, gratings, thwarts, correctly carved oars, anchor, tiller and rudder lashed above spare spars and topmasts and much other fine detailing. The hull, planked in maple over a hollowed 'bread and butter' former with fully planked and pinned decks is fitted with lion's head decorated scuppers, finely carved stern and quarter cabin windows, the whole upperworks being covered in gilded carvings of male and female figures, dolphins, mermaids, flowers, scrolls and mythical figures, the stern with royal arms and the figure of the Queen and finished in white to the waterline, black, pale blue, natural wood and venetian red -- 36 x 47in.
