An exceptional 18th Century French 'Regence' ormolu mounted olivewood, rosewood, burr elm and walnut inlaid Commode, attributed to Thomas Hache (1664 - 1747), the top with geometric designs and a moulded gilt bronze edging, over two short and two long drawers each crossbanded, and brass mounted borders and with ornate central and side lock escutcheons over ornate turned and heavy floral heavy ormolu drop handles, side flanks with inverted reeded brass columns, each side with lozenge tablet inlay and central ormolu female figure heads over a shaped apron with mounted ormolu C scroll, shell type decoration, approx. 122cms wide x 87cms high x 65cms deep (48" x 34" x 25 1/2").
