An Empire Gilt Bronze and Alabaster Mounted Rosewood Mantel Clock anton rettich, vienna, 19th century surmounted by a figure of a Roman soldier beneath a portico, the case with a circular enamel dial having Arabic numerals and raised on a breakfront base with griffin and trophy mounts throughout. Height 27 1/4 inches. Estimate $ 1,500-2,500 Property from the Estate of a Chicago Area Collector Clock in overall good, stable condition. Case intact with even finish throughout, some tight age splits to veneer. Mounts with fairly even dirty patina. Dial intact but with a chip above 12 o'clock and crack near 10 o'clock. Works appear complete with pendulum, two bells and key. Clock runs, unsure as to accuracy and duration of silk suspension movement. Strikes on the hour and half.
