An Egyptian Wood Mummy Mask, 21st/26th Dynasty, circa 1075-600 B.C. from an inner anthropoid coffin, carved in a fine-grained hardwood, the oval face with finely outlined lips rounded at the corners, long almond-shaped inlaid eyes with tapering cosmetic lines, and finely arched tapering eyebrows merging smoothly with the contour of the bridge of the nose, the central part of the wig and tenon for attachment above. Height 8 1/2 in. 21 cm.
