An early Victorian gilt and embossed velvet sewing accessory case and other items Estimate £100-200 - velvet case with some rubbing to the outside but still a good rich colour, cut steel clasp a little oxidised but working, opens inside to reveal a purple leather and pink silk interior, fitted with what look to be original tongs, needle and scissors which are named Echo, all in as good as unused condition, in addition there are unused plain paper note pages and at the back four packets of Karby's London needles, assorted no.7, no.8 and no.9, tucked in the back a copy of Howlett's Golden Almanack 1843 and a further French printed almanack for 1843. Case 10.5 x 6.75cm - a copy of Hints on The Flower Garden with original gilt cloth cover by J.H. Clark 1851, 10.25 x 7cm, slight wear to cover - a Victorian gilt printed and pierced card case with floral panel lifting to reveal the printed phrase Compliments of the season, the reverse printed with two women, opens to expose a folding compartmented interior with internal gilt white card envelope, within that an embossed paper envelope with central oval floral panel now discoloured and holed and within that a further blue paper envelope housing a unknown powder, 12 x 8.5cm - a paper envelope housing cards printed with Her Majesty The Queen, HRH Prince Albert, HRH Princess Beatrice, HRH The Prince of Wales, HRH The Princess of Wales and The Rt. Honourable John Bright, all hand coloured engravings, 9.25 x 6.5cm - some light foxing, wear to the envelope along with foxing.
