AN EARLY MEISSEN, LOUIS XV ORMOLU AND CHANTILLY CANDLESTICK THE MEISSEN PORCELAIN CIRCA 1730, THE CHANTILLY PORCELAIN FLOWERS AND THE MOUNTS CIRCA 1740, THE PEACOCK WITH CADUCEUS MARK Formed as a Meissen figure of a peacock inspired by Arita porcelain and modelled by Georg Fritzsche , standing beside a tree stump splashed in turquoise and purple, its plumage in bright blue, iron-red, yellow, turquoise, shades of brown and black on a shaped ormolu base with stiff leaves and lizards in relief supporting an ormolu tree with flowers in Chantilly porcelain beneath a chrysanthemum-shaped nozzle enriched in green, iron-red, yellow and turquoise holding an ormolu candleholder, moulded with petals and edged with beading (flowers missing and replaced, slight chips to nozzle)-- 9in. (23cm.) high overall
