AN EARLY DYNASTIC SHELL CYLINDER SEAL CIRCA 2700-2500 B.C. With a seated figure drinking from a jar through a tube with two figures placing a square box on a three-tiered altar, another figure with reared-up animal behind, fillers including a scorpion, globes, crescent and a bird, 1 1/8 in. (2.8 cm.) high; an Early Dynastic alabaster cylinder seal with contest scene; an Early Dynastic copper alloy cylinder seal with a hero flanked by a rampant ibex and walking quadruped, 7/8 in. (2.1 cm.) high, all circa 2700-2500 B.C.; an Akkadian black stone cylinder seal with a contest scene between two heroes each grappling a reared-up bull, and a human-headed bull and long-bearded hero in contest with a lion, circa 2300-2200 B.C., 1¼ in. (3 cm.) high; an Early Dynastic III white stone cylinder seal, with two lions attacking a central animal flanked by a protecting hero and human-headed bull, the terminal wih upper register of crossed lion and bull(?), the lower with eagle with outspread wings, 1 3/8 in. (3.4 cm.) high; and an Akkadian shell cylinder seal, the lower register with two figures flanking a wide-branching tree, the upper with seated figure, 1¾ in. (4.4 cm.) high (6)
