Russell Markland (1892-1973) is notable for his poetry which he published under the pseudonym RM Ingersley. He published his first collection of poetry in 1910 at the age of just 18, titled "The Amethyst Scarab and Other Poems". This ring is likely a bespoke commission reflecting that inaugural publication.
