An Art Nouveau sterling silver goblet and cover embossed with seagulls flying across hte waving sea with seaweed on a tall and wavy base, finial in shape of a pierced crown. Engraving of the Ministry of the Navy's first prize 1910 concerning the first aeroplane flight over the Sound. Probably designed by N.G. Henriksen for A. Michelsen, Copenhagen 1908. Weight 919 g. H. 37 cm. Reference: Malene Dybbøl and Sabrina Ulrich Vinther, the court jeweler A. Michelsen, Copenhagen, 2009, p. 74 - vase with seaweed design by N.G. Henriksen. Condition Normal patina due to age and use, including scratches and marks.
