The outward turned rim black glazed inside to base of neck, the double strap handle with Herakles knot, rays around outer rim, frieze of alternating filled circle and rosette with triple dot infill ornament around neck, the body with horizontal line and wave frieze below the scene: large winged eros stands, reaching to right, the naked figure with wings outstretched, his hair bound up in a chignon, he wears elaborate jewellery, diadem, earrings, bracelets, chest band, double thigh and ankle bands, drapery over left forearm, and holds tambourine in left hand, large elaborate floral bloom in right hand, to his right an altar with small flame, foliate ornament in field, the reverse with large palmette under handle and palmette and volute decoration to either side, (repaired from a few large fragments) 8in. (20.3cm.) high
