An anthology of Persian History, possibly by Ghiyas ad-Din Muhammad Khwandamir, in Persian, illuminated manuscript on paper [Safavid Iran, dated Ramadan 964 AH. (1557 AD.)] 344 leaves (plus one endleaf), single column, 31 lines of black nasta'liq, important words and phrases in red, green and gold, four illuminated heading opening sections of the text in gold and polychrome, leaves ruled in blue and gold, some spotting and minor worming to preliminary leaves, first three leaves torn at edges with slight loss to text (now repaired along margins), ink inscriptions, stamps and labels to endpapers and pastedowns, 290 by 172mm., contemporary dark brown morocco binding, decoupé cut central medallions and corner-pieces, filled-in with embossed paper, slight loss to one corner on lower cover, floral vine embossed decorative paper-covered doublures, hightened in gold, signed "CARL MUNCH No 5" From the Mohamed Makiya collection (their ‘64/200’) and previously part of the Hagop Kevorkian collection (665).
