An American Mahogany Slant Front Bureau 19th century having a rectangular top over the fall front writing surface opening to a fitted interior above four graduated drawers, raised on claw and ball feet. Height 44 1/4 x width 21 x depth 21 inches. Estimate $ 500-700 Width actually 43 3/4 inches. Desk in good, stable, complete, usable condition. Later finish fairly even throughout but with light surface wear (nicks and scratches) consistent with age and use. Age splits to veneer on lowest drawer and right side. Age splits and separations to some drawer bottoms and back boards. All drawers open and close smoothly, with locks, having one key. Feet likely original. Hardware appears replaced.
