Hollis & Sons, London, circa 1860, the second by William Birkell, London, early 18th Century, the last dated 1848 The first with signed reblued shortened barrel, signed and engraved reblued lock stamped 'Best Enfield Pattern', walnut full stock with bellied butt, engraved brass butt-plate and trigger-guard, plain brass barrel bands, and later brass ramrod, Birmingham proof marks; the second converted from flintlock and with belled two-stage barrel, signed lock, full stock, brass mounts (trigger-guard broken), and associated iron ramrod, London proof marks; the third with dated lock stamped with spurious 'Tower' and VR crowned marks, full stock, brass mounts, iron saddle bar, and stirrup ramrod The first with 28in.
