An 18th-Century lacquered-brass and lignum-vitae Culpeper-type compound monocular microscope, unsigned , the vellum-covered draw tube with gilt-stamped motifs, and inscribed bands corresponding to various objectives, with lignum-vitae mount and ray skin band (body tube lacking) , body tube mounting plate raised on three baluster-turned brass supports above the stage, the stage with bull's-eye condensor (slide holder defective, bull's-eye lacking lens) , raised in turn on three baluster-turned brass pillars from the wooden base, incorporating swivel mirror, with 6 ivory sliders, in tapering oak case with drawer in base (neat repairs to case) -- 13in.
