For [Cutbush, James.] [The American] Artists [sic] Manuel [or, Dictionary of Practical Knowledge in the Application of Philosophy to the Arts and Manufactures...] [Published, Philadelphia: Johnson & Warner, 1814]. 47 pages on 25 sewn 4to leaves (several loose). Each page divided into 5 columns: subscriber's name; residence; number of copies; boards; bound. Minor dust smudging, but clear and legible. Recording the names of 796 subscribers, including many prominent individual Americans, including doctors, lawyers, artists, politicians, soldiers, merchants, farmers from New York state down to Virginia. In custom crushed dark blue moroco sleeve. Thomas Jefferson represented by a secretarial signature and entry, is among the subscribers; represented among the many autograph signatures are Mathew Carey (25 bound copies), Nathaniel Chapman, MD, Thomas Hartley Crawford, Thomas Dobson, General John Doughty, E. I. DuPont, Victor M.
