However, he was in financial straits before this, so much so that it resulted in Congress giving a pension to former presidents. The book was a success, providing much-needed income for his wife. Condition: An attractive set in the original gilt stamped green cloth. Modest rubbing at head and tail of both spines but bright and Very Good+ otherwise -- better condition than the typical.
