Almanach royal, anne [1770]. Paris: Le Breton, [1769]. 8 (212 x 137mm). French royal arms on title. Contemporary French red morocco, sides with central arms of Louis-Antoine Crozat, baron de Thiers [Olivier 189, variant fer] and decorated with numerous small tools in the style of Dubuisson, corner ornaments incorporating the Crozat star, flat spine with floral tool, blue silk endpapers, gilt edges. The arms may equally be those of Bernard de Montessus [Olivier 184] or Chastaing-Montfort [Olivier 186]. For a nearly identical binding, see Schaefer sale, Sotheby's 7 Dec. 1995, lot 8. Contemporary French red morocco gilt, the sides with central arms of (?)Malon der Bercy [Olivier 222, fer 4, citing its use on this copy], narrow roll-tool border, fleurs-de-lis in compartments, gilt floral endpapers, gilt edges.
