Contemporary blindstamped calf over wooden boards, brass cornerpieces and lozenge-shaped centrepiece, panels of spine blindstamped in compartments (rubbed, some worming). Provenance : early ownership inscription of the Carthusians at Tubingen?. Adams A696. ALEXANDER de Ales. Summae theologiae, pars prima [-quarta & Index] , Venice: F. dei Franceschi, 1575-76. 5 parts in 4 volumes, 2° (320 x 214mm). Woodcut device on titles (occasional browning). Volume I later vellum (soiled), others contemporary limp vellum (rubbed and soiled). Adams A697; and 5 others including 2 duplicates of the above work. (10)
