With an essay by Theodore Low De Vinne together with a leaf from the Aldine Hypnertomachia Poliphili printed at Venice in 1499 Author: De Vinne, Theodore Low Place: San Francisco Publisher: Book Club of California Date: 1924 Description: Illustrated with decorative headpieces after wood-cuts in the Aldine Hypnerotomachia, plus an inserted original leaf from the Aldine Hypnerotomachia Poliphili printed at Venice in 1499. (4to) original brown boards backed with black cloth, gilt-lettered spine. No. 180 of 250 copies printed by the Grabhorn Press in hand-set Poliphilus type on Kelmscott paper. This copy with a leaf of text, without illustration. Other copies had leaves with ornamental borders or woodcuts with the original issue price varying depending on the value of the leaf.
