lot of 2. Includes TLS, 1p, 8 x 11.5", on Institute for Advanced Study, School of Mathematics, Princeton, New Jersey letterhead. Princeton, 9 February 1946. Addressed to Lt. Hans F. Loeser thanking him for his interest in the immigration application of a nephew of Einstein's old friend, Professor Rudolf Ehrmann, and asks to assist the young man if at all possible. AND 1p.ALS, 8.5 x 10.25", [Princeton], 2 June 1946. Paper has Einstein's blind stamp at top. Letter in German, refers to same family as other letter. Einstein states that he is glad that young Mr. Pollack was able to leave his "...unpleasant former environment." He goes on to say, "In your young years, you were forced to experience the burden of the Jewish Fate. The best of us will not become bitter over this experience, but will gain independence and inner strength." Two fine Einstein pieces. Condition:First has folds, 2 holes punched in left margin,
