Lot of 4 photographs: Silver gelatin photograph, 6.5 x 8.5 in., on 8.5 x 10.5 in. mount. Titled in the negative, "Dexter Mining." Ca late 1890s. Six gold miners pose for an unknown photographer while working in Dexter Creek in Alaska. Note the long wooden sluice, as well as a few tents and a wooden building in the background. Light wear to mount corners. Silver gelatin photograph, 6 x 8 in., on 8 x 10 in. mount, capturing two miners underground, posed with several of their tools. Photographer unknown. Loss to top left corner of print. Loss to lower right corner of mount, with wear to remaining corners and edges. Silver gelatin photograph, 5 x 7 in., titled in the negative, "Rocking." Photographer unknown, but believed to have been taken in Alaska. The photo captures two miners working a rocker, surrounded by piles of rocks, logs, and other debris. Ca early 1900s. Crease at lower left edge of print. Silver gelatin photograph, 4 x 7 in., titled in the negative, "218 Hoister 750 ft. Underground Iron Silver Mine," and credited to Brisbois, Leadville, CO. Ca late 19th-early 20th century. Even toning.
