AKORE "Evolution of the Girl with the Pearl Earring' MixedMedia Signed w/COA (#0466) 2010-Present. Original MixedMedia painting by AKORE. Signed by the artist and with certificate of authenticity. MixedMedia on thick paper (aerosol, acrylic, stencil). Hand signed, size: 70×50 cm. In good condition. About the work... Akore's work of "Vermeer", 'Evolution of the Girl with the Pearl Earring', referring to one of the most representative works of Johannes Vermeer aims to pay tribute to the entire Afro-community, historically forgotten in the great classical works and tries to give them through this recreation a central space and protagonist. Akore is considered one of the most active and recognized urban artists in Barcelona today. He has participated in numerous individual and collective exhibitions, events and international projects. His work has been published in National Geographic, Greenpeace, MTV, El Periódico de Catalunya, La Vanguardia, among others, and he starred in the art documentary series 'This is Art' (TV3 / Movistar+), which screened in more than 50 countries across worldwide. He is known in the urban art scene for his colorful, powerful and expressive Afro-graffiti. His unique style is centered around post-graffiti and has been defined as primitive, tribal, abstract, hip funk, electro-afropunk, and is called "Afrocolor". His portraits and paintings of African tribal women reflect the soul of Mother Africa, with whom he has always felt spiritually connected. His work is clearly influenced by urban culture, hip hop, the African American movements and culture, for African aesthetics, Street Art, Pop Art and graphic design. Akore is part of the same street art movement as: Banksy / Kaws / Os Gemeos / Shepard Fairey "Obey Giant" / Felipe Pantone / DZIA / Dan 23 / Cranio / Keith Haring / Arsham / Chevrier / Dillon Boy / Basquiat / Mr Brainwash / Maat Gondek / Space Invader Kit / JR / Murakami / Monopoly / COPE2 / C215 / Pichiavo / Futura2000 / Vhils / Alice Pasquine / Borondo / Bom-K / Koons /D*Face / Saner / Tristan Eaton, among others.
