AFTER THE ANTIQUE, A CARVED WHITE MARBLE FIGURE OF 'THE SLEEPING ARIADNE' PROBABLY ITALIAN, LATE 19TH CENTURY Set on a variegated grey marble plinth base 12cm high overall, 16.5cm wide Condition Report: There are marks, chips, knocks, bruises, scratches, scuffs and abrasions consistent with age, some to the extremities and edges and including the toes and some drapery. Damaged areas have been restored including the left foot, arms and head. There are cracks to the white marble rectangular base. There is white plaster attaching the white marble figure to the grey marble base. This white plaster appears to be later because it also fills some chips, for example to one corner. Overall the colour appears cleaned with some areas of discolouration remaining. All that said these comments on condition are mostly only apparent on close up inspection. Please refer to the additional images for a visual reference of condition. Condition Report Disclaimer
