AFTER ISIDORE JULES BONHEUR (FRENCH 1827-1901), A BRONZE EQUESTRIAN GROUP 'LE GRAND JOCKEY' Depicting the successful horse and jockey, signed to naturalistic base 'I BONHEUR' approximately 59.5cms high, 73.5cms wide overall, base 47cm wide Bonheur exhibited a diverse number of animalier bronze sculptures at the French Salons from the 1860s onwards. Perhaps the most successful of these was this model- one of four horse and jockey compositions he exhibited. Condition Report: Very mild signs of handling and wear.
