Christian Ignatius) Journal of a Visit to South Africa, in 1815, and 1816, With Some Account of the Missionary Settlements of the United Brethren, near the Cape of Good Hope, first edition, folding engraved map with routes supplied in red and blue, 4 engraved outline panoramas and 12 hand-coloured aquatint plates, 2 pp. advertisements at end, title with some offsetting and light spotting, occasional spotting or light foxing elsewhere, some offsetting, original boards, sympathetically rebacked, original paper label to spine, chipped and laid down, with loss, corners bumped, [Abbey, Travel 325; Tooley 292], a very good copy, 4to, 1818. ⁂ Latrobe was appointed by the Moravian Church to select a site for a third mission station at the Cape.
