Francesco Zambeccari Forli, Roveri & Casali, [8vo: pp.; 1 pl. (sl. damp stain to upper margins, some spotting). Sewn, orn. paper. Rare first edition of the description of "La Speranza", aerostat designed and constructed by Andreoli (1771-1837), one of the pioneers of aviation in Italy. Illustrated with a fold. plate figuring the balloon, Andreoli made some ascensions with in Forli and Brescia. His first ascension was with another Italian aviation pioneer, Fr. Zambeccari in but due to poor visibility the balloon crashed in the Adriatic Sea. Ref. Not in Tissandier, Maggs Bros.
