His sketch book illustrating the North West Frontier, featuring a pen and ink sketch made during the battle at Shinkamar 1898, showing enemy positions and those of the KOYLI Battalions, ink and wash views of the Mamari and Barkai camps, with additional, more detailed vignettes of those areas. A view of Malta as seen from Imtarfa, and what appear to be a self portrait dome whilst taken ill in bed at the Mamari camp.
