A WWI period German engine room telegraph salvaged from SM UB -81, the casing marked to the reverse 'SUM 46', with later inscribed plaque. *Note - SM UB-81 was a type UB III submarine of the Imperial German Navy during World War I Built in 1917 she sank after hitting a mine on 2nd December 1917 off the Isle of Wight in 2002 the location was scheduled as a protected site under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986. This piece was recovered by divers in the late 1970s/ early 1980s.
