A WWI and WWII Naval Distinguished Service Medal group awarded to 277696 John McCoy, Stoker P. O. RN, comprising: Distinguished Service Medal (GVR), Queen's South Africa Medal (HMS Doris), Africa General Service Medal Somaliland Bar (HMS Diana), Royal Navy Medal (HMS Diana), Croix de Guerre, British War Medal, 1914-15 Star, Victory Medal and 1939-45 War Medal, all framed together with a photograph of Mr McCoy, also a small brass-bound prayer book inscribed 'John McCoy, Stoker, HMS Boris, Simons Bay, South Africa, Born Mar 25th 1874', a booklet for 'HMS Lion Routine and Stations' with pencilled in teams for Watches, Fire Brigade, Abandon Ship etc. and facsimile copies of his service papers covering 1897-1919 and noting the award of the DSM for 'Services rendered in action in the North Sea 31 May-1 June 1916', (Battle of Jutland).
