A well engineered 2in. scale model of a Shand Mason Horse Drawn Fire Engine , built by Maxwell Hemmens, with brazed copper boiler with 'J' tubes, stamped 4438 and with normal fittings, twin cylinder engine with cylinder head lubricators, scotch cranks, eccentric driven feed pump and stop cock, twin spoked flywheels and twin direct coupled water pumps with change over lever, water tanks, suction and delivery hose. Chassis and body details include spoked wooden wheels with metal tyres, turning lock, coal bunker, drivers seat with metal back, box body with foot rests, brake gear, bell, two branches and lamps, finished in red, black and polished brightwork, the box sides with brass plate inscribed 'York Fire Brigade' -- 14¼ x 22in.
