A well detailed static display scale model of the French 28-gun frigate La Confiance 20th Century With details including bound masts, yards with foot ropes and stun's'l booms, full suit of stitched linen sails with reefing points, left and right hand wound, standing and running rigging, carved figure head in the form of a female, head rails, heads with brass pipes, bitts, deck rails with belaying pins, metal anchors with bound wooden stops, belfry with brass bell, companionways, belaying rails and pins, stove pipe, gratings, ship's boat rigged to mail ratline, bilge pumps, capstan, deck lights, carved helm, twenty brass guns in stepped wooden carriages and other details. The planked and pinned hull with scored desks, chainplates and deadeyes, hinged open gun ports, the glazed stern and quarter galleries and rudder is finished with carved bone stern decoration, black and varnish and mounted on two turned brass columns, secured to a display board 36 x 45in. (91.5 x 114.5cm.) overall
