A VINCENNES BLEU LAPIS GROUND WATER-JUG ( BROC ORDINAIRE ) CIRCA 1753, BLUE INTERLACED L'S MARK, INCISED 4 Of pear-shape with narrow neck and flared spout, gilt with birds in flight and trailing garlands of flowers below the spout and handle and with birds in a landscape vignette among flowering plants and shrubs within a shaped cartouche edged in gilt with scrolls, trailing flowers and foliage, trellis and fir trees, the loop handle enriched in gilt, gilt dentil rims (very minor scratching to ground) 8 3/8 in. (21.2 cm.) high
