A Victorian burr walnut veneered Tunbridge ware parquetry inlaid micro mosaic writing box. 19th century. Decorated with a parquetry inlaid tesserae moth to the centre, flanked by two parallel bands of parquetry inlaid tesserae floral patterns to both the top and front with a parquetry inlaid tesserae escutcheon lock to the front. The hinged lid encloses an interior fitted with a linen covered writing slope with two compartments beneath, a pen tray and two small compartments containing two glass inkwells. 5.3 in (13.5 cm) height, 13.8 in (35 cm) width, 9.3 in (23.7 cm) depth.
