A very rare mahogany long duration wall regulator, Urbain Jarossay Paris 6¼-inch enamel dial signed Jarossay & Cie A Paris, with centre seconds enclosing a subsidiary hours and minutes dial, the movement with pin wheel escapement, three wheel train with helical gearing, the drive provided by two large spring barrels mounted on a pivoted assembly, similarly signed, mounted below the movement and driving a large diameter pulley wheel connected to the movement by an endless cord, the l;arge pulley wheel revolving one quarter of a turn in every twenty-four hours, the separately suspended pendulum with compensation rod mounted to the right with two fine adjustment screws ad raising and lowering the pendulum by means of two levers, beat adjustment on the crutch, the whole mounted on a polished black marble back board with signed beat plaque at the base, contained within a richly coloured case with moulded cresting, glazed door and under-curved base 150cm. high; 59in.
